To enter, share your favorite Christmas Morning Memory in the comments before December 15th.

Christmas on Mimosa Lane, as a title, is all about the ending of the story: How do Pete and Polly and Mallory make their “perfect” Christmas morning dreams come true? Later today, I’ll blog the second of my Reader’s Guide/Book Club posts about that very thing–what makes Christmas perfect for you, what does your ideal morning or holiday look like, and do the commercials and promotions and more materialistic flood of media messages this time of year make your holiday happier or maybe a little harder to deal with?

To get you started, check out last week’s reader’s guide/book club post: Happy Ever After Holidays.

So, overall, how do your holidays find their way to your hearts and how do you share what’s most special to you… And what does perfect mean in your life, on that magical morning we wake and rush to our trees to celebrate our blessings?

Chat away in the comments for your chance to win a priceless Trifari Christmas Tree of your very own!

Oh, and a second winner will receive a $5 Amazon Gift Certificate ;o)

Contest closes midnight December 15th!

My favorite xmas memory is from when my son was little. I had to wake him up he was 2yrs old. When he opened his eyes and saw all his gifts the squeals of delight will live with me for ever. He is 23 now and the best man I know.

My favorite Christmas memory is from when I was probably 11 or 12. When we woke up, a huge windstorm knocked out the power in our area for much of the day. The living room got north and west light, so it was very dark. Well, we had all these candles my mother had never lit: the candles that my little brother and I had made in school over the years, some Christmas candles my mom put out every year. So in order to open our presents, we lit all the candles and set them around so they could lighten the room. Then, we opened all our gifts by candlelight. It was the most romantic and coolest Christmas ever. I think my little brother and I enjoyed the candlelight part even more than the gifts that year.

My favorite Christmas memory was when I was young and we had relatives staying with us. We enjoyed their visit so much and it was the most meaningful and warm holiday that we ever had.

The bubble lights on the Christmas tree made it seem old-fashioned yet right at home with the tinsel lovingly placed with each single strand having a place to be.

My favorite Christmas memory is the first one I shared with my family in Germany. I was 14 & it was our first Christmas with just the six of us. It was my first White Christmas & our tree had ornaments from the US as well as ones from Germany. It was magical to me.
Perfect is not a word I like to use but this Christmas should be special because it will be the first time in years that me, my Mom, her siblings & their families will be together celebrating!

My favorite Christmas morning memories are all when I was little. We were poor. So we never knew from one Christmas to the next if we would get a present at all. So one year when I woke up and beautiful doll with rubber legs and porclain head and arms was there for me I was so excited. Only when I took it to show and tell kids laughed because it was used. But I treasured that doll for years clear into my marriage.

My favorite Christmas memory was when I was very young and my sister and brother were captivated with Christmas, as was I. We didn’t overdo the holiday at that time but hoped that each of us would be receiving something special which we would cherish. I loved reading even then and wanted a book badly. My parents were aware of our different characters and abilities. My sister was artistic, I loved to read and my brother was very active. I received a set of Nancy Drew books which I treasured forever.

When my little boy saw the tree lit up, the presents arranged beneath it he was spellbound and entranced. this was the best memory of all. A child’s innocence and captivated with the holiday.

When I was seven, we spent Christmas Eve at my Grandparents house along with my aunts, uncles, and cousins. When I awoke Christmas morning, I found a cute poodle puppy from Santa. I loved the little dog and named him Baby. Two of my cousins also received poodles, so there were puppies running all over the house. It was so much fun and a memory I will always cherish.
